Why we made PetTag
Our cat was lost for two months.
In September 2025, our cat Oreo went missing in a forest in France. For two months, we didn't know where he was.
An elderly lady who lived nearby had found him. She looked after him for two or three weeks, but she had no way of reaching us, and the nearest vet was a long way off. When she finally got him there, the vet scanned his microchip and emailed us. Even then, the email landed in my dad's spam folder.
Oreo came home in the end. But for all that time, someone who wanted to help was holding him, with no way to tell us.
